What types of clients do you work with?
We mainly work with individuals, who are looking for someone to take a “big picture” approach to their financial situation and do so with objectivity and expertise in the financial planning process.  Our clients include widows, retirees, professionals, small business owners, corporate & governmental employees, who share a common interest in seeking help with understanding their options and making informed decisions.  Oftentimes, new clients seek our help when they are confronted with a transition, such as retirement, the loss of a spouse or an inheritance.
How do new clients find you?
Most of our clients have come to us through referrals from existing clients or professionals we have worked with over the years.
Is there a charge to get together to discuss our interest in your services?
We offer a complimentary (no-obligation) introductory meeting, the focus of which will be to determine whether our relationship would be a good fit and, if so, to establish the full scope and focus of the initial financial review.
Will you work on a hourly basis?
Project/hourly services are offered on a limited basis and only when deemed appropriate.  While we believe a comprehensive approach to planning our client’s financial future and an ongoing relationship is generally preferred, we will work with individuals on an as-requested basis when appropriate.
Why the Windmill?
Joan L. Parker's great-grandfather, Dirk Van Erp, known in the folk art circles for his hammered copper lamp bases and translucent mica shades, used a windmill for his signature;  One of Joan's goals for the firm is to create a sustainable financial planning model that will serve generations to come and windmills conjure up an image of sustainability; Windmills represent a source of power.
